Free Hit BGW35 – Players to Target

While I am writing this article, I have mixed feelings. Another disappointing week in which I needed a big differential performance but Alexis Sanchez who I picked as my triple captain failed. It was the last hit to my squad, and now it’s sure that I will not save my season.

On the other hand, I started to prepare a fantasy World Cup preview for our website so it is the best possible way how to forget about this FPL season. I am looking forward to the World Cup as always because all my childhood memories are coming up in my mind.

But, before the World Cup will dominate our website, we need to play out the rest of the FPL season with honor. In this article, I focused on players who I would consider for your Free Hit squads because those are my targets as I am playing the Free Hit chip this weekend.

Goalkeeper – Martin Dubravka (Newcastle, 4.5M)

The Magpies are playing in a top form and the Slovak goalkeeper is a big part of that. After his arrival to the St. James Park, he established himself as the number one between the sticks and he kept two clean sheets in the last four games (Newcastle won all of those). On top of that, he conceded only two goals – one from Arsenal (win 2:1), and one from Leicester (win 2:1). Another Dubravka’s advantage is the price. He’s cheaper than Karius, Pope, Cech or Pickford – other possibilities for your keeper spot – so take a look at him, maybe you will use him.

Budget defender – Kevin Long (Burnley, 4.0M)

It’s a necessity to include a cheap defender if we want to use all attacking potential from Liverpool and ManCity, right? If you answered yes then you should draft Burnley’s Kevin Long. Ben Mee is out for DGW35 and Long served very well anytime he was needed. The 4.0M defender played eleven games this season and cumulated 49 fantasy points (4.45 FPTs per game). He was on the pitch three times when Burnley kept a clean sheet, and also added one goal and two assists. What more do you want from 4.0M defender?!

Liverpool’s must-have triplet – Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)

I didn’t want to include them in my article at all because we all know what they are capable of and that’s an absolute necessity to have them in our BGW35 squads. I think that’s not needed to prove these players so I am moving on to other targets.

In-form midfielder – Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace, 6.9M)

Zaha is a must-have in my eyes and I will include him in my squads for sure. Crystal Palace fight in the relegation battle and they need every point. The Upcoming matchup against Watford is one of those games in which CP will play for everything, and good performance from key players (like Zaha) is urgency. If we look on Zaha’s numbers we can be calm – he’s in a fine form, scoring 3 goals and adding one assist in the last three games which are replicated to 26 fantasy points. Moreover, Watford didn’t win in the last five games and lost four of them so Zaha will have a perfect opportunity to continue his form.

Budget striker – Ayoze Perez (Newcastle, 5.3M)

When you build your BGW35 squad, there are two viable options how to stack your attackers. You can go with three heavy-hitter strikers or with one budget striker and two heavy hitters. If you decide to pick one budget attacker, take a look at Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez. As I said above, Newcastle is on fire, winning the last four games, and Perez was the key man of those wins. He accumulated a stunning 31 points in the last three games (two double-digits hauls) for three goals and two assists and he offers an excellent value for the 5.3M price.

ManCity’s must-have striker – Jesus (ManCity, 10.0M)

One day ago, Jesus wasn’t such a clear pick as he’s now. But Sergio Aguero underwent a knee surgery and he will be out for the rest of the season (likely, the rumors have a different information). What is sure, he won’t help City in BGW35, and Jesus should start up-front. Jesus is a clinical striker, and the form is here as well. He started in three games out of the last four, and netted a goal or assist in every one of them. In those three games, Jesus scored two goals and picked up another two assists, and perfect matchup coming up with Swansea at home.
